01 / The project
An Arabic front door for a London hospital.
The Private Patients Unit at the Royal Free London treats international patients alongside patients from the UK. royalfreeprivatepatients.ae is its Arabic website, where patients and families in the Gulf can read about treatments and consultants and book an appointment in their own language.
We designed and built the site, and it sits alongside our wider work with the unit in the UK.
02 / What we did
- 01Built right to left
The layout, navigation and typography are set for Arabic readers from the start, on a UAE domain.
- 0226 specialties in Arabic
Each specialty, such as renal services, has its own section written for patients.
- 03Arabic consultant profiles
Consultants are introduced in Arabic, with their names shown in English so they match what patients find elsewhere.
- 04A bilingual content process
Arabic copy was prepared in a two-language document, so each page has an English source it can be checked against.

The site is live at royalfreeprivatepatients.ae, and we have worked with the unit since 2019.
